Virginia Geiger Obituary
Columbus – Virginia A. Geiger, 97, formerly of Cortland, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Mayfair Village Retirement & Nursing Home.
She was born July 15, 1921, in Lorain, Ohio the daughter of the late Albert and Pearl Mackert.
She was a 1939 graduate of St. Theresa Academy in Rocky River. Virginia was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland.
She is survived by her four sons Gerald A. (Jan) Geiger of Austin, TX, Donald W. Geiger of Las Vegas, NV, Alan J. Geiger of Virginia Beach, VA and Michael G. (Cristina) Geiger of Yuba City, CA; three daughters Mary Jo Abraham of Warren, Anne (Les) Harris of Pataskala, OH, and Jeanne (Albert) Nigro of Plano, TX; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Paul (Jackie) Mackert of MD, Earl (Carol) Mackert of Sun City, AZ, Mark (Mary) Mackert of Seven Hills, OH and James (Lois) Mackert of Lorain, OH and three sisters Pearl Olearcik of Avon, OH, Sr. Rita Mackert CSJ of Strongsville, OH, and Janet (Jack) Ravotti of Avon, OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert W. Geiger whom she married May 30, 1941 and passed away September 7, 2003, a son-in-law Francis Abraham, a daughter-in-law Patricia Erickson, a grandson Patrick Geiger and brothers Fr. Albert and Lawrence Mackert.
Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8;00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church 4659 State Route 46, Cortland, Ohio 44410 with Rev. Carl Kish officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
